Artist Statement

I studied Painting at NSCAD University in Halifax, NS and after graduating I then moved to Perth, ON to be closer to family. As an artist, I am inspired by the vibrant colours and light as it is found in nature, and how to share that with the viewer while working primarily in painting and drawing mediums. I currently am creating works in acrylic that study the landscapes and floral elements from around my home within rural Ontario. I enjoy exploring how different nuances of colour can impact how an image is perceived, evoking emotions within the viewer and describing memories and experiences from my past as well as sharing a piece of my home. I am currently a member of the Rideau Lakes Artist' Association as well as Arts Carleton Place.
